Love Always

This is a wedding card I created after playing with my Silhouette Cameo. All cut files are from Silhouette of America's online store. The stamps are from Gina K. Designs. I cut the gate fuld card first, but decided I couldn't come up with something to do other than an invitation, and I didn't want that. So, I cut off the folds from the card and glued them to a piece of white card stock. I then cut a circle from Spellbinder's and cut that exactly in half and glued them to the edges. I cut the flowers in 4 different sizes, so each one has 2 flowers. I stamped the sentiment, which is from two different Gina K. Design sets. And then I added all the bling...and there is a lot of it on this card. I hope you can see it all.

Sweet Friend

Doodle Pantry Release. Yep, you're seeing correctly. Laurie has another release today. She is re-releasing 5 stamp sets that she has digitally colored and the brand new Country Flavors Digital Paper pack!

For my sample, I used the Oranges & Cherries set. This is a previously released set that has now been colorized. You still get the outline images, which is what I chose to use. I printed the image and sentiment from the same set on white card stock. I colored my image with Copic markers (cherries - R24, R46, R59; leaves - YG03, YG63, YG67; branch - E33, E79). I added glossy accents to the cherries to make them shine. I cut an oval on my Silhouette Cameo and used the negative space as a mask. Using Real Red ink from Stampin' Up!, I sponged around the inside of the oval. I mounted the image on a piece of black card stock and then on a white card stock base. I added the crystal flower and flourish bling and then the red round crystals at the bottom of the card.

Check out the entire store for all of July's new releases and don't forget that you still have time for the 25% off sale. Also, be sure to check for the freebies that were added this month too. You're going to love them.

Be the Change

I am seriously obsessed with making butterfly cards right now. I did a make-n-take at our Scrapbook Expo this past Friday and we did an amazing CAS Butterfly card. I came home, went looking on the internet for the perfect butterfly, and finally found it. There was no name for a company on this digi butterfly, just found it in images. I think it was from a coloring book, but I'm not certain. In the last 2 days, I have made 5 butterfly cards using Spectrum Noir markers and Copic Markers. You will be seeing the posts for most of them later.

The Monday Greeting challenge at The Outlawz was a perfect outlet for making this one. This week they are having a color challenge - orange, green & yellow - melon colors.

I printed this twice on white Crafter's Companion card stock and colored both copies with Copic markers (YR02, YR04, YR07). I left one of the butterflies on the white card stock base and used Spellbinder's Labels One to cut it out. I used Spellbinder's Decorative Labels One in black card stock behind it. I loved the way it mimics the dots on the butterfly's wings. I hand-cut the second butterfly and then sprayed it with Sparkle Glitter and mounted it on top of the other butterfly. The rest of the colors for the challenge are in the designer paper that I used as a "ribbon" behind the focal image.  The sentiment is from Gina K. Design's Follow Your Dreams set. I finished the card with 3 tiny crystals in each of the colors of the challenge.

Christmas Lamppost

This is my second post for the Doodle Pantry July release. For this sample, I used the new Vintage Lamppost and Holiday Greetings sets. I also used an older set called Poinsettia.

You can get this set free with purchase from July 1st - July 24th. It has some incredible digital papers and wonderful sentiments.

For this card, I printed an outline version of the vintage lamppost and colored it with Copic markers (lamp - C02, C04, C05, C09; flame - Y00, Y13, Y17) and used glossy accents for the glass portion of the lamp. I used the Sakura clear glitter pen on the "iron" portions of the lamp. I cut the lamp with Resplendent Rectangles from Spellbinders and distressed it using Basic Gray ink and then mounted it on another rectangle cut from the same set using Ruby Red card stock. I mounted that on a piece of black card stock and then a white card stock base distressed with Basic Gray and Ruby Red ink (all paper and ink from Stampin' Up!). I printed 2 very small outline images of the poinsettia and colored the with Copic markers (leaves - G20, G24, G28 and flower petals - R00, R17, R24, R27). I hand-cut them both out and mounted one on top of the other and then mounted it on the lamppost with 3 punched branches from McGill. The sentiment was printed on white card stock and punched out using a large oval punch from Stampin' Up! and distressed with Ruby Red and Basic Gray ink. To finish the card I added 3 glitter snowflakes from Jolee's Boutique and changed the clear crystals to red crystals.

Don't forget, you can get the Holiday Greetings set FREE just for playing along with our challenge on the Doodle Pantry blog.

Li'l Tin's Brain Needs Oilin'!

Do you know what time it is?  Oh yeah, it's Doodle Pantry time! I am so excited about this July release, and I think you are going to be too. In addition to some fabulous digi sets, Laurie has created an homage to The Wizard of Oz. There are 4 individual sets: Li'l Dot, Li'l Roar, Li'l Scare and Li'l Tin; and a bundle called Li'l Oz, that has all four of these sets, plus a combined image of all 4 characters on the brick road and 4 additional curved sentiments.

For this release, I chose to use a pre-colored image of the tin man and a sentiment from Li'l Tin. It is an absolutely adorable set, and so much fun to play with. I also used the yellow brick road from the Li'l Dot set. Here is a picture of what you will get in the two sets I used.

Using my Fireworks software, I combined the yellow brick road, with Li'l Tin standing on it, and the sentiment into one file. I printed this out twice. I know it's hard to tell, but Li'l Tin is actually dimensional. I hand-cut his hat, body, left hand, knees and shoes and popped them up on top of the original image. I used the Sakura clear glitter pen on all of his bolts to make them stand out a bit. I then added a metal heart on his body. The oil can was cut using my Silhouette Cameo and a cut file from their online store. I used the glitter pen to make it shine. This was layered on a piece of designer paper from the Li'l Tin set.

Doodle Pantry is also having a wonderful 4th of July sale from July 1st - 7th. You will get 25% off any of the new July releases (with the exception of Li'l Oz, which has already been reduced). Just use the coupon code JULY25OFF at checkout to receive your discount.

You can also get free sets from Doodle Pantry. From now until July 4th, you can get USA Star free. And, when you join Doodle Pantry's Blog Challenge DPDC36 between July 1st and July 24th, you will receive the new Holiday Greetings set free.

Thank you for visiting my page. I hope you'll take a few minutes and visit my fellow design team members' pages and see what they have created. They are listed on the right-hand side of my blog.

Got Tools?

How adorable is this image? Can you see why I love Doodle Pantry so much? This card was created using the Handy Birdie set from the May 2013 release. I used Laurie's pre-colored image because I've been dying to have a green bird, but haven't been able to color him correctly myself. But, why mess with perfection anyway, right? I also used one of her fabulous designer papers from the set, and the Got Tools? sentiment, as well. All of the individual pieces have been distressed with Chocolate Chip ink from Stampin' Up! The workshop apron is a cut file from Silhouette of America's online store. It started out life as a grilling apron, but I changed it up a little bit. I added the pocket on the front and then put some small metal tool charms that I had inside it. I also added a metal clip on the neck of the apron and 2 metal nailheads where the ties meet. The original cut file had the card squared off on the right side, so I hand-cut it to keep the shape in apron form.

Baby Boy Shoes

This is my second card using this digital image set from Doodle Pantry called Baby Shoes.  Can you tell I just love it? I needed another baby card, so I used up all the stuff I had left over from the other card. I had printed the baby shoes 3 times and only used 2, so I used the 3rd one here. I know you probably can't tell in the picture, but that is a frame on top of the white card stock the image is on. Marvelous Squares by Spellbinders. I used the pre-colored version of the image Laurie did because I just don't think I could color them better. The designer paper is also from the set. The sentiment is silver glitter alphabet stickers that I colored blue with a Copic marker. I used clear crystal bling around the entire square of the designer paper in each of the centers.

Birthday Fish Tank

This is a project that is very dear to me. It is for my nephew Ryan. He LOVES fish tanks and I thought it would be wonderful to make him one that he doesn't have to change the water or feed the fish.. I wish I could take credit for this idea, but that goes to Kerri Hortle. Here is a link to her card on Pinterest. The moment I saw this, I knew I would make one for my nephew. Isn't she clever?

So, here are the details on how this was made. I cut the box on my Silhouette Cameo using a cut file from a 3d fern box. It was square, so I had to manipulate it a bit, and I only used one piece from the cut file and removed the fern from the inside of it. I just didn't want to buy another box cut file. I measured and cut a piece of acetate to put on the inside to enclose the box. The background was made using Encaustic Wax on white card stock. I cut the piece to be a little bigger than the box and scored and cut the edges to make the inside of the box. That way, I could glue the sides of the bottom box to the top box to keep everything inside. I had to use glue dots, because the wax wouldn't hold white glue.

I used black lava rocks from my stash for the bottom of the ocean. This was done by squeezing a generous portion of Martha Stewart white glue (dries clear) along the bottom edge, pouring the lava rock on top and setting aside to dry completely before dumping the excess back into the container. The coral was made using a McGill punch and then dipping it into colored UTEE using the melting pot. I did the orange first, and then added green and got this dark green effect. The fish are from Gina K. Design's Under the Sea set.  They were stamped on white card stock and colored with Copic markers (orange fish - YR12, YR14, YR16; starfish - E11, E13; yellow & blue fish - Y04, Y06, Y08, BG02, BG05; turtle - YG21, YG23, YG25). One of the fish was stamped onto a clear block and then onto card stock, so I could get it faced in the opposite direction.

I mounted the fishtank on a piece of black card stock, then added a 3-tiered, sponged set of rectangles and then the metal sentiment (Tim Holtz Ideaology Word Bands) and then used black metal circles to make it look anchored.

I had the best time making this card. It has already gone into the mail to him today and I'm praying it makes it in one piece. I hope it doesn't get crushed.

Angel Baby

For this card, I used one of the new June release sets from Doodle Pantry called Oh Baby. This set is spectacular for all kinds of baby cards. Laurie created some fabulous designer papers for this set as well. Just look at all the great images you get with this one:

I chose the pre-colored images to create this card. They are perfectly colored. I printed the onesie in pink and 3 of the safety pins in pink, yellow and blue. I hand-cut the onesie and used Spellbinder's classic circles to cut out the safety pins. I did a horizontal flip on the yellow safety pin so it would be facing the opposite direction. All of the card stock is Stampin' Up! (Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue and Barely Banana). After using the circle die on the safety pins, and a larger die for the coordinating color of card stock, I used the coordinating ink in the center of the circles. I then layered them, popped them up, and then added coordinating crystals to each and then coordinating smaller crystals around the edge of the circle. The onesie was cut and layered on white card stock that was distressed with Barely Banana ink and then layered onto the designer paper that comes with the set and then once more onto Bashful Blue card stock. The white card stock base was also distressed with Barely Banana ink. The word "Angel" is a stamp from Gina K. Design's Wee Tee's set. I added a crystal at the collar and 3 silver pearls at the bottom to represent snaps on a onesie.

There is still time for you to pop over to the Doodle Pantry Blog and play in our challenge. You will receive the Quirky Stork set just for playing along. If you are the winner, you will receive a gift certificate to use in the Doodle Pantry store. The challenge ends June 24th.

Birthday Eagle

I got the idea for the design layout of this card from one that I repinned in Pinterest. I just loved this layout. The card stock is all Stampin' Up! (Ivory and Early Espresso). I used Early Espresso ink to distress the Ivory card stock and to stamp the sentiment, which is a set called Birthday Greetings from Stampin' Up! The Eagle is a cut and print file from Silhoutte's online store. I colored the Eagle some time ago, and unfortunately, did not write down the Copic marker numbers used. I did use Inkssentials white opaque gel pen on the head and in various parts of the feathers. I finished off the card with brown stitched ribbon from Gina K. Designs and brown metal nail heads from my stash.
