Piles of Fun

This is my favorite color combination for Christmas cards. I don't know why blue and white are so eye-catching to me. You are not going to believe how easy it is to make this card. I am using a digi stamp from Doodle Pantry's new set called Snowman Pile-Up. This entire card was made digitally by combining the COLORED versions of the image, background (from the same set) and the sentiment. This was so fun and quick. No coloring, no cutting...just printing on a color printer. I then layered the printed image onto Pacific Point and Whisper White card stock from Stampin' Up! and added a white snowflake and brad from my stash.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Peace on Earth

Hi Everyone...today at 613 Avenue Create, we are celebrating World Peace Day. So, our challenge for you is to use a peace symbol or the word peace on your card. Our sponsor this week is Rick St. Dennis and I am using his stamp Chin Chin.

To make this card, I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the sentiment and background, which can be purchased from their online store. I used black and cherry cobbler card stock from Stampin' Up! I printed Chin Chin on white card stock from Crafter's Companion and colored it using my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers (clothes - reds - DR2, DR6; black - IG7, IG9; gold -GB4, GB6, hair and eyes - EB3, EB5; skin - GB2, FS8). I cut the image and a background using Spellbinder's Labels Four (lg & sm). I added 4 yellow crystals in the center of her shirt and a Chinese symbol cut from my Silhouette Cameo. I used pop dots to raise both the image and sentiment onto white card stock from Crafter's Companion and then onto cherry cobbler card stock from Stampin' Up!

Snow Much Fun

We have another challenge over at 613 Avenue Create. The theme this week is everybody's favorite "ANYTHING GOES". Our sponsor this week is Rick St. Dennis.

For my card, I chose the beautiful digi stamp Isabella Making Snow Friends. I absolutely could not resist this little snow cat with his adorable bow tie. I used Stampin' Up's Snowy Play for the sentiment, which was stamped using taken with teal ink. The designer paper is from DCWV and the rest of the card stock is rich razzleberry, taken with teal and whisper white from SU. I colored the image wth Copic markers (Isabella's clothes - RV00, RV63, RV66; skin - R000, R02; hair- Y04; boots - C5, C9; snow cat - BG0000, BG000; bow tie - BG57, BG75). The tag is Fancy Tags from Spellbinder's (I cut a few pieces away from it). Finally, I added some white metal snowflakes.

I really hope you get a chance to play with us this week. It's snow much fun!!!

Igloo Fun

Hello everyone! It's time once again for a fabulous Doodle Pantry release! Today Laurie is releasing  7 new stamps sets, 4 SVG cut files and 26 sets previously sold at CDS. So, pop on over to the Latest Releases for November 2013.

I am using the new set called Igloo Fun. Wow, did I have "FUN" making this one too! To make this card, I opened one of the PRECOLORED images with my Silhouette Cameo and traced it (I had to leave off the ground doodles). I then did a print and cut. Using Copic marker B00, I added a little more blue to the igloo. I knew I was going to be using glossy accents and I didn't want it cover up the light blue that was used and make it appear all white. I also used Frosted Lace Stickles glitter glue on the snowballs, penguins and walrus to indicate snow that had fallen on them (that is part of the precolored image). I used 2 of the digital papers that come with the set, one patterned image and one solid. The card is 6" x 6". I used a white card stock base, then added black card stock, then the patterned paper and then a 1 1/2" strip of the solid paper layered not quite in the center (it's hard to see because of all the other things added). I added a white satin ribbon across the middle and then added a bow to that. Next is another layer of white card stock, black card stock and white card stock embossed with Cuttlebug's Dot embossing folder. I added 2 large snowflake brads to the corners and once the image was dried, I added it to the top using pop-up dots. I printed the sentiment from the same set and used Spellbinder's Classic Ovals to cut them out and then distressed it with bashful blue ink from SU (which was a perfect match to the papers I chose) and mounted it in the corner.

Don't forget to head over to Doodle Pantry's Blog at 12:00 p.m. ET to play along with our challenge (DPDC40). You can use any digi stamp you wish to be eligible for the $15 gift certificate, but to get this month's stamp set Snowman Pileup for free, just for entering, you MUST use a Doodle Pantry image. There are lots of free stamp sets being released and also free with purchase sets to get you started. Be sure to add them to your cart before checking out. Isn't this set adorable?
