Trick or Treat?

Well, as far as I'm concerned, anytime Doodle Pantry is involved, it's a treat! I have no idea why, but I absolutely love making Halloween cards. Here is my first for the season.

 

For this card, I am using an older digital stamp set from Doodle Pantry called Bat Birdie. Isn't this upside down birdie adorable? I printed the image on white card stock and then colored it using Copic markers (bird body - YG17, YG23, YG25; beak & feet - YR16, YR23; branch - E31, E33, E35, E37; mask N3, N5, N7). The mask was then layered with Fantastic Glaze to make it shiny. The card is a 3-layer cut file from Silhouette's online store. I used orange, black and lime green card stock to cut this file. After the layers were glued together, I used orange and  black Stickles Glue along the edges. I finished the card with black bats from a punch by All Night Media. Here is a preview of what you get in this set.

Time to Get Together!

I have another post for you today from Doodle Pantry. Anyone who knows me by now knows how much I love these digi stamp sets. Each month is just a thrill to see what Laurie comes up with. This is what I made for you this week.

 

I used Ageless Antiques 2 for this card. The clock, couch and sentiment are all from this set. I used pre-colored images for this card because they were already a perfect match for my background. So, let's start with the background. Believe it or not, that background was completely made from two different sizes of circles that were left over from a project I made for a friend. The paper the circles were cut from is from DCWV. I placed the larger circles first onto white card stock, and then I placed the smaller circles in between those. I then used ink to distress the edges and cover up most of the white that you could still see. I layered this onto black card stock and then onto a peach card stock and added crystals along the edges. I actually made this background about 2 months ago, but I didn't know what to do with it. It totally looked like wallpaper to me. Then Laurie released this awesome antique set and I thought it would be perfect. Just look at that awesome clock? So, I printed the clock and the couch using my color printer and then hand cut them out. I needed a table to put the clock on, so I used a cut file found in Silhouette's online store. I couldn't believe how well it matched. I decided to make the sentiment larger and place it over the couch as if it were a picture on the wall and then put a black frame on top of it, which I cut on my Silhouette Cameo. The table is glued flat on the background and the clock and couch have a thin layer of of pop ups and the sentiment has a slight larger layer of pop ups. Yoo Hoo!

Doodle Pantry is having a mid-September release of six new digital stamp sets and one new e-cuttable file set. There are so many fun new sets to play with this month.

 

I am using the new What a Hoot set. I used a PRECOLORED owl for my card. Laurie also created a fence for this set. I wanted to use a paper pack she created a while back called Grunge Wood Mini Digi Pack, so I printed the wood designer paper on white card stock. I brought the fence image in my Silhouette Cameo and did a trace on it and then cut the fence using the wood designer paper. I absolutely love the way it turned out. I printed the owl and then hand cut it. The circle behind the owl and the grass are cut files from the Silhouette online store. I created the background using Old Olive, Summer Sun and Cameo Coral inks from Stampin' Up! and sponge daubers. I printed the sentiment twice and punched it out using a Stampin' Up! punch. I also used the same three inks to color the sentiment. The owl and the fence are adhered with foam dots to give it dimension. There are so many outlines and pre-colored images in this set, that it took TWO preview pages to show them all:

You Are One Fabulous Pursen!

This is a card I made for a very dear friend of mine for her birthday. She absolutely LOVES purses and bags. I swear, she probably has an entire room filled with them. So, naturally, when thinking of her and making a card for her birthday, I chose two fabulous sets from Doodle Pantry!

 

 I used the set Purse Parfait for the designer paper and sentiment. Both were printed on white card stock and I used a punch from Stampin' Up! to punch out the sentiment. I distressed the sentiment with black ink and used foam tape to pop it up. I created the actual purse using the Purse Parfait SVG set. Seriously, look at the details of this adorable purse. I cut all the pieces using my Silhouette Cameo and red, black, silver and white card stocks. I did two "offsets" on the purse to create the white and black layers so the purse wouldn't get lost on the designer paper. This was also popped up with foam tape. The lipstick is cut file from Silhouette's online store. I also did an "offset" on this cut file to give it an additional layer. I had so much fun creating this for her. Have a Jolly Jingle Holiday

I'm back on my most favorite Design Team! Yes, you guessed it...Doodle Pantry. I have really missed being a part of this team, so I am very happy to be back on board. There have been a lot of changes in the design team since I've been gone, so please take a look at some of the other member's blogs. We have some very talented ladies on this team.

 

My card is using the new Carousel Deer set. Everyone knows by now how much I love her carousel series. I did, however, choose to use the deer without the pole. I love to show how versatile her sets really are. Laurie always gives us the image without the pole, as well as with it, so you can choose how you want to use it. I first printed the solid blue and the printed blue digital papers that come with the set using white card stock. I used the solid print with my Silhouette Cameo and a snowflake spread cut file from Silhouette's online store. Even though some of these snowflakes were incredibly small, they cut beautifully. I mounted this on white card stock. Using the clear Sakura Gel Pen, I dotted the entire background to give it a nighttime snowy effect. I printed the deer on white card stock and colored it using Copic markers (deer - E53, E55, E57, E59; saddle & reins - BG72, BG75, BG78; leaves - G29; ribbons & flowers - R46). I then hand cut the deer image and popped it up onto the background using thin foam adhesive. I added mini gold half pearls onto all the places that had bells showing on the image. I really love the way this came out. I really wish I had super mini bells to put on there. I printed the sentiment from the same set and using two tag punches from Stampin' Up! I punched the sentiment and then the background from the designer paper I printed earlier. I distressed the sentiment with Not Quite Navy ink from Stampin' Up! and using the thin foam adhesive, mounted it onto the background. I then cut two angled strips to give a "faux" ribbon look and added a mini button. Here is a picture of the entire set that you will receive.
