I am seriously obsessed with making butterfly cards right now. I did a make-n-take at our Scrapbook Expo this past Friday and we did an
amazing CAS Butterfly card. I came home, went looking on the internet
for the perfect butterfly, and finally found it. There was no name for a
company on this digi butterfly, just found it in images. I think it was from
a coloring book, but I'm not certain. In the last 2 days, I have made 5 butterfly cards using Spectrum Noir markers and Copic Markers. You will be seeing the posts for most of them later.
The Monday Greeting challenge at The Outlawz was a perfect outlet for making this one. This week they are having a color challenge - orange, green & yellow - melon colors.
I printed this twice on white Crafter's Companion card stock and colored both copies with Copic markers (YR02, YR04, YR07). I left one of the butterflies on the white card stock base and used Spellbinder's Labels One to cut it out. I used Spellbinder's Decorative Labels One in black card stock behind it. I loved the way it mimics the dots on the butterfly's wings. I hand-cut the second butterfly and then sprayed it with Sparkle Glitter and mounted it on top of the other butterfly. The rest of the colors for the challenge are in the designer paper that I used as a "ribbon" behind the focal image. The sentiment is from Gina K. Design's Follow Your Dreams set. I finished the card with 3 tiny crystals in each of the colors of the challenge.
I am entering this card in the following challenge:
Susan, what a great card. Love the butterfly and it is always a winner in my book. You can add it to so many cards for that little extra. Great color match for the challenge. Thanks for joining us at The Outlawz.
