Gorilla Love

It's time for another card made with Doodle Pantry images. This is the card I have made for my husband for Valentine's Day this year. He's going to love it...lol.

 

I have used one of Doodle Pantry's brand new sets called Lil Gorilla Jungle. Isn't he cute? I printed the pre-colored image on white card stock and then cut him out by hand. I used a red glitter Sakura gel pen to color in the heart he is holding, as well as a few of the hearts scattered on the background (it's very hard to see it in the picture). The tree and hearts are a cut file from Silhouette's Online Store (Design #72710). This tree is actually a 3d image, but I only cut 1 and I removed the perforation.  I cut the tree using white card stock and then distressed it with Going Gray ink so it would stand out a little bit against the white background. The hearts were cut out using red card stock and glued in place over some of the branches. I cut a few extra hearts out so I could place them in the background as well. I added clear crystals in the center of the hearts that are in the tree. The sentiment is also a cute file from Silhouette (Design #56743). I cut this out using red card stock and glued it in place over the trunk of the tree. I used foam dots to pop-up the gorilla. I used the sentiment "I'm ape over you" on the inside of the card. Hello Everyone! I am very excited to announce that I have joined the Tuesday Color Challenge design team at The Outlawz. This is my first week, and our sponsor is The Paper Nest.

 

Our challenge this week is to use at least 3 colors from this beautiful pastel rainbow.  There is no twist for this week's challenge.

 

Here is my inspiration card for you:

 

For this card, I chose to use Garden Ellie...isn't she adorable. I am also using two Doodle Pantry digital stamps for this card. The daisy is from the Charlie Daisy set and the sentiment is from the  Encouraging Words set. The first thing I did was cut the frame using my Silhouette Cameo. The design is ID #73381. Then I removed the inside cut from the frame and brought the images and sentiment into the software and did a cut and print. I colored the images using my Copic markers (dress - V20 V22, RV10, RV13; shoes and bow - RV10, RV13; skin - R00; cheeks - R20; hair - Y11, Y13; watering can - C0, C2, C4; daisy - G20, Y11, Y13). I cut the grass (design #56521) and distressed it with G20, but it absorbed so you can't see it much. I distressed the bow frame with pale plum ink and the white insert with barely banana ink. The blue layer was distressed with soft sky ink.

A Winter Wonderland

Hi all...I have some exciting news. I am Hosting this week's challenge over at the Mod Squad Challenge Blog. Our sponsor this week is the fabulous Sparkle N Sprinkle company. The theme for this week's challenge is All About the Animals. I chose to use one of their fantastic digital image sets called Winter Wonderland. The set comes with an outline version and a pre-colored version. I used the outline version for my card.

 

The card I made is 6" x 6". I printed the image onto white card stock and then colored the image with Copic markers (pine trees - YG63, YG67; deer and bunny - E31, E34, R01; trees - E74, E77; snow - C0; ice - B0000; bird - B02, B04, Y38). After coloring the image, I used a Sakura Clear Star gel pen on the trees, ice and sides of the trees. However, it didn't give me the sparkle and dimension I was looking for, so I went over that with Stickles Frosted Lace Glitter Glue and while it was still wet, sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds Glitter from Stampin' Up! over it. After that dried, I used a brush to remove all the excess loose glitter from the card. I then used Ranger's Glossy Accents to create the "frozen" pond. I layered the image onto Basic Black card stock, then Tempting Turquoise card stock and finally onto a Whisper White card stock base. I printed the sentiment that comes with the set and mounted it on black card and used foam tape to pop it up on the side. Finally, I added a silver snowflake sticker from Class A Peels. This picture was very difficult to take, but let me tell you, the shine and sparkle in real life is amazing looking.

Just For You

Yay...it's Tuesday...time for another release at Doodle Pantry. Every 3rd Tuesday, Doodle Pantry will be releasing cut files, along with a few images. I absolutely love working with these cut files. I have never had a single problem with any of the ones I've used. Lori McCroskey designs most of the .svg cut files for Doodle Pantry, but Laurie Wilson (owner of Doodle Pantry) is creating some of them too. They are fabulous.

 

For my card, I chose to use the new Valentine Mice image set and Card Cut Hearts svg set. I started by printing the mouse with balloon pre-colored image onto white card stock using my Cameo and doing a print and cut. I had to manually cut the space inside his tail area using an xacto knife. The white, purple and pink layers are all from the Card Cut Hearts set, with the white layer being the card base. I love doing shaped cards and this one is adorable. I printed the sentiment on pink card stock and did another print and cut with my Cameo. I just love this stacked heart card. It was so simple to use. I added heart and circle crystal stickers on the sides and a crystal strand sticker for the balloon's string. I finished by popping the image up with foam tape. Here is what you get in both sets.

Bath Ants - Soap Extra

Ok...come on...you have to admit, this is one of the cutest digital stamps ever! Seriously, how adorable are these ants taking a bath in a cup being heated by a cup warmer? I just love how Laurie (owner of Doodle Pantry) comes up with these amazing sets.

 

This card is using the pre-colored image from Bath Ants, which was just released this past Tuesday. I was going to color this myself, but I just loved the color combination she used here. The frame is a bubble frame (Design ID #62847) from Silhouette's online store which was cut using my Cameo. I first printed the teal paper that comes in the Bath Ants set onto white card stock and then cut the frame from that. I also used purple card stock from my stash. I then did a print and cut with the pre-colored image using white card stock. Some of the bubbles were done with purple card stock and a couple with white card stock. Once the focal image was assembled, I added white, purple and teal pearls (yes, I had teal pearls, but I did use Copic marker V09 to color the purple ones). The image was mounted onto white card stock, where I had printed the sentiment from the same set. I had a bath set from Jolee's Boutique that was in light blue and light pink. It had this little towel set, so I used my Copic markers and colored the light blue towel using BG49 (teal) and the light pink towel using V09 (purple). The yellow duck is also from the Jolee's Boutique bath set. This was a FUN card to make. Here is what you get in the set.

Love Bugs

It's Doodle Pantry time again. There have been some changes made for releases and the monthly challenge beginning this year. Same great illustrations though! Instead of one great big release at the beginning of each month, there will be smaller new releases every 1st, 2nd and 3rd Tuesday of the month. The 4th Tuesday will be Flashback products. My release day is the 3rd Tuesday, but I will be posting samples throughout the month with the other releases as well. Today's card is using the new set Lady Bug Hugs, as well as two older svg cut file sets Hearts Galore and Card Cut 6.

 

I made this card for a congratulations on your engagement occasion. I think they are just adorable. The image, sentiment and designer paper are from the Lady Bug Hugs set.  I printed the designer paper on white card stock. The framing is 4 pieces, 3 of which are from the Card Cut 6 svg set. I did an offset on the background so I would have one more layer. I cut the rectangle frame from black card stock, I printed the focal image on white card stock (using a pre-colored image) and did a print and cut for the second layer. The third layer was cut using the designer paper I printed and the final layer was cut with black card stock. All of the layers were mounted onto basic gray card stock. The double heart is from the Hearts Galore svg set, which was cut with red card stock. For the final touch, I placed three black crystals on each corner of the white frame. Here is a picture of all three sets.

Winter, I'm Outta Here!

I have another wonderful image for you from Doodle Pantry today. This card was so much fun to make. I am also using one of the new .svg cut file sets, as well. It is called Card Cut Basics. If you own a cutting machine that accepts .svg files, and haven't tried one of these sets yet, you really should. They are super easy to use and a LOT of fun!

 

I chose to use the octagon card cut file. The set includes the card shapes as well as just the card fronts (if you want a traditional square or rectangle card). There are several layers to this card shape. The base was cut using a tan card stock and the second layer was cut with a light blue card stock. I printed one of the designer papers onto white card stock and then used that to cut the top layer. I chose the scalloped inside (there is also a plain edged one) to frame the image. I used a pre-colored image from the Canadian Goose set. I absolutely fell in love with this color scheme. It's masculine, but with more subtle colors. You can't tell from the picture, but the frames have been lifted using foam sticky dots in two sizes, so there is a lot of dimension to the card. The sentiment, also from the set, was printed on white card stock, with a black card stock mat. The branches are from a punch and I used gold glitter, silver glitter, white and light blue card stock. Once I arranged them on top of each other, I added a black goosebump crystal at the base of each one. To finish the card, I added black crystals angled under the focal image. You Light Up My Life!

This is my entry for the return of the The Outlawz Freebie/Progressive Challenge - December 2014. The image this month is sponsored by Simply Betty Stamps.

 

I printed the image on white card stock and colored it using Copic markers (R00, R89, C5, N8, B01, B09, G09, Y18, YR09). The string of lights is a cut file from Silhouette's Online Store and cut with my Cameo using different colored card stock for the different lights. I printed the sentiment with a Christmas Snow font and used a small oval punch and a larger oval punch for the mat. I layered the image onto black and cherry cobbler card stock. I added a goosebump star and clear crystals on the string of lights.

Happy 50th

This card is a special birthday card for my brother Steven, who will turn 50 on New Year's Eve. I am using one of my favorite Doodle Pantry sets and two different techniques. He is Commander of the U.S.S Sampson and the globe represents the world he helps to keep safe and the anchor represents his service in the United States Navy.

 

I used Vintage Globe for this card. Although this set was previously released in outline form, Laurie has re-released it in color. Wait until you see this set. I did a faux leather technique and a faux embossed technique on this card. I got this idea from a video of a card that was done in feathers from Split Coast Stampers. First, I printed the sepia colored version of the globe onto baked brown sugar card stock. I then used a small stylus and traced around the outside of the globe and then around the continents inside the globe. This gives it a faux embossed look. I distressed the entire card using creamy caramel, more mustard, pumpkin pie and chocolate chip (in that order) to give it a faux leather look. Once the distressing was done, I turned it over and using a large stylus, I puffed out the globe's stand and the continents to make the embossing stand out a bit better. I filled the indentations in the back with glue and let it dry and harden. This way, the puffed portion will not flatten out when mailed. I printed the designer paper from the same set onto white card stock and cut a small strip and attached it to the faux leather piece. I mounted the focal image onto navy card stock and then onto a white card stock base. The sentiment was cut using my Silhouette Cameo and came from their online store. I added a resin anchor from EK Success and blue crystal stars to finish the card. Here is what you get with this set:

Celebrate the Gift of Christ

I have another card from the spectacular Doodle Pantry store to share with you today. Normally, I always use an image from one of Laurie's amazing sets, but today, I used an .svg cut file from the new Bethlehem SVG Card Cut set that was released this month.

 

You actually have to see this card in person to get the full effect of this card and all it's glitz. This is one of the best cut files I've ever worked with, seriously. Everything is right there for you to use. This cut file is four layers of the City of Bethlehem and it's just glorious! I used three different colors of glitter paper - Black, White and Silver. I used thin foam dots to pop each layer up slightly to add lots of dimension. The background is designer paper from DCWV. The sentiment is also from Doodle Pantry, an older set called Christ's Gift, which I thought was perfect for this card. I printed this on shimmery white card stock from Crafter's Companion and layered it on black glitter card stock. I am so incredibly happy with this card. This is what you get with this svg set.
