USA Honey

I am using an image called USA Honey. I just love her stars and stripes bathing suit. The image was printed on white card stock and colored with Copic markers (hair - Y18, Y13, Y02; suit, lips and barrette - B69, R29; eyes - B02; skin E04). The title phrase USA is a cut file file purchased from Silhouette Online and cut with my Silhouette Cameo. I mounted the image on red card stock and then a blue card stock base. I added 3 colored gems for the fireworks and 1 small clear crystal for her diamond ring!

I'm Glad There Is You

HEY HEY HEY there's another challenge starting at Through the Craftroom Door (TTCRD). This challenge will run through February 24th and is always ANYTHING GOES.  Our awesome sponsor this week is Oozak.

 

I am using an image from Saturated Canary called Hugs and Kisses. Oozak sells unmounted Saturated Canary stamps and just about everything else you need for your crafting, including Copic markers. I printed the image on white card stock and colored it using Copic markers (hair - Y18, Y13, Y02; clothes and hearts - R81, R83, R85, R89; boots - E30, E33; box - E42, E43, E44; eyes - G24; lips - E04; skin - E000). The hearts along the side is a cut file from Silhouette Online cut with maroon card stock. This was glued to pink card stock and then I added clear crystals along the stems. The image was cut into a rectangle and mounted on maroon card stock and then onto the pink base. The sentiment is a white rub-on from Stampin' Up!

Roses in Bloom

Here is another fabulous image from Doodle Pantry called Rose Bloom. This set was previously sold by CDS, but can now be found in Laurie's store at Doodle Pantry.

 

I am actually using two of the images in the set. Using my computer software Fireworks, I putt the buds behind the open rose and saved it as a single image. I am using the PRECOLORED version and I love the depth you get. I brought the image into my Silhouette Cameo and did an outline trace and then used print and cut to get my image. The sentiment and the gate are cut files from Silhouette Online. I added a leaf flourish die cut from Cheery Lynn Designs and entwined it with the gate. The roses were added using pop dots to raise it up a bit. The designer paper behind the gate is from Stampin' Up! and I layered that with black and then gray card stock. And, of course, added some bling to finish it off.

Don't Bee a Stranger

YIPPEEEE...WE'VE BEEN PUBLISHED! Yes, you read that right. Doodle Pantry has been featured in Complete Cardmaking 48. It is published in the UK and they are a digital craft magazine. Laurie asked for volunteers to create a card to be featured, and I did (volunteer, that is)! Two of my Design Team members (Pat and Dana) even made the cover! I haven't received my copy yet, so I have no idea what to expect. Here is the card I made:

 

This was actually my very first step card. I have previously blogged a couple of other step cards before this one, but this was the first. I am using Bee Birdie (which was released back in October) and Happy Buzzer.

The step card is a cut file from Silhouette Online. The designer paper and sentiment are from the Bee Birdie set, as well. The beehive is from the Beeutiful Beehive SVG and PDF set and was cut using my Silhouette Cameo. I originally printed a colored version of Bee Birdie, but my printer didn't come out with the correct colors, so I recolored using Copic markers (N3, N6, N8, YR0000, YR20, YR23, B0000, B41, R02). These same colors were used to color the Happy Buzzer bee as well. I cut them out by hand and mounted them on the step card. I used a hand-held Fiskers circle punch for the antennae on Bee Birdie. I printed the sentiment using the cut and print feature along with a label from Silhouette online. I also cut the background label. Last, I added brown candy dots from Stampin' Up!

It's time for another Team B release at 613 AVENUE CREATE. As you know, this is always an anything goes challenge, but we always give you an optional challenge too! I am using the sweet image Chick and Kitten from Aurora Wings. Isn't this image adorable? I printed the outline image on white card stock and colored it using Copic markers (kitten - CO, C2, C5, C9; chick - Y11, Y19, YR24). I mounted the image on basic gray card stock and mounted that on this beautiful heart cut file from Silhouette Online. I cut the heart frame at 5 1/2" and mounted it on white glitter card stock. I didn't end up liking the way it looked in a square of glitter paper, so I cut around the hearts free hand and then mounted everything on a basic gray card base. I added smokey gray bling around the hearts for a little extra pizazz!

Be Mine Heart Candy Ant

Valentine's Day is fast approaching, so we need to get all those cards done. I'm using another image from Doodle Pantry for this card. This is an older image, but still very very cool.

 

 I am using Heart Candy Ants from Doodle Pantry. How adorable is this image. I know it's not one of the new releases this month, but it is on sale in the store right now for 30% off. If you haven't already, you really should take advantage of this sale. I took the color palette from Tuesday's Color Challenge at The Outlawz. The card is a cut file from Silhouette online. I cut the base of the card using blue card stock, and then cut the trim using purple card stock. I put a piece of white glitter card stock behind the cut out to give it much needed glitter! The image was printed on white card stock and colored with Spectrum Noir markers (ant - IG3, IG5, IG7; tongue - FS7; sand - TN1, TN2; grass - DG1, DG2; heart - PP1, PP3) and distressed with pale plum ink from Stampin' Up! I added little pink hearts along the edge for a little added contrast. Here is what you get with this set:

I chose 60-Lady Kathleen for my inspiration card. Isn't she lovely? She reminds me of my mother. She used to always wear hats like this. The card is a cut file from Silhouette Online. I used a pale purple for the base of the card, and a darker purple for the inset. I printed the image on white card stock and colored it with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers (dress - IB1, IB2, IB3, HB1, PL2, PL3; face - FS1, IB2, DR2; hair - CT2, CT4; flowers - HB1, HB2; leaves - JG2; feathers - IB1, IB2, IB3). I used an EK Success rounded corner punch and layered it on matching blue card stock. I added purple crystals on the dress and hat and purple pearls on the card for added bling!

Moose Be Another Birthday

Hi Everyone! Welcome back to another look at Doodle Pantry's February 2014 release. This time, I'm showcasing a card made with a set illustrated by Laurie Wilson and previously sold at CDS. I am so happy she has all of these sets back.

 

I made this card using Moose Friends. My husband is a huge fan of moose, so whenever I see moose stamps, I go a little nuts. For this card, I actually combined two of the images from the set and copied a little extra grass from the baby moose image. I used Fireworks to do this. Although it's not hard to copy a piece of an image, sometimes you have to erase things around it to use it. That's what I did here. The moose were printed on white card stock and colored with Spectrum Noir markers (bird - TB4, GB5; grass - CG4, DG3, DG4; moose - TN1, EB3, EB6, EB8). The card frame is a cut file from Silhouette. I also cut a branch from another cut file and added it to the tree to fill up the blank space above the moose. I distressed the card with close to cocoa ink from Stampin' Up! The designer paper is from another Doodle Pantry set called Handy Birdie. The sentiment is from Moose Friends. Last, I added brown candy buttons from Stampin' Up!

Carousel Horse

It's the 1st of the month, so it must be time for another fantastic release from Doodle Pantry. Laurie has outdone herself once again. Wait until you see all the fabulous digital stamp sets, designer papers and .svg cut files being released today.

 

I am using the new Carousel Horse 1 digi stamp set. Yes, there will be more. Laurie has several more horses planned, and possibly other animals as well. There is just something so magical about carousels. I loved riding them as a kid (and the truth is, even as an adult), and would still ride them if I didn't need help getting up into the saddle...lol. One of my most favorite styles is to make dimensional cards (because they are just so fun to make), so for this one, I am using what is called a bendy card. I thought it would be perfect to display a carousel horse.  This bendy card is a cut file from Silhouette Online. What's so great about it is that it ships flat. When you cut the card, it has slits and tabs to make the card dimensional.  I deliberately made my horse larger, so I will need to send my card in a 5.5" x 5.5" envelope, but the card is actually made to fit A2 size envelopes. I brought the horse into my Silhouette Cameo and traced it so I could print the image and then cut it out using the Silhouette. I used a precolored image to trace (it's a bit more difficult to trace outline images), but then switched it with an outline image before printing because I wanted to color it myself. I used Copic markers (horse - C0, C2, C5; pole and harness trim - Y28; saddle - R81; ties - R59, R89) to color the horse and then used a Sakura clear glitter pen to go over the pole, harness and saddle to give it glitter and shine. I love how the clear glitter pen turns the Copic marker Y28 into a beautiful shimmery gold. The designer paper is from the same Carousel Horse 1 set, and the cherry cobbler scalloped polka dot ribbon is from Stampin' Up! I used 3 sizes of clear crystals on the horse. The sentiment is also from this same set. I attached the horse to the card at the base of the pole and the front legs only with glue. I then made a very small slit on the edge of the card to insert a piece of the horse's tail to keep it bent for displaying. Here is the complete set you will receive:
