Ouch!

Hello Friends. I have a card to share with you today from Doodle Pantry. My dear Mommy is having surgery in a couple of weeks, and I am going to be staying with her for a week to help her through it. I am using the Cuddly Bear set for this card, along with a couple of cut files from Silhouette.

 

I printed the Cuddly Bear image on designer paper from KI Memories and also on white card stock. I hand cut the pillow out to paper piece it behind the bear. I colored the image with Copic markers (bear - E11, E15, E17, E19; sheet - YG93, YG95; gems on flowers YR65; distressing on flowers YG95; distressing on vase - B66). The rest of the card are cut files from Silhouette's online store. Ouch Title - Design #75594. cut with white, blue and salmon card stock; Vase of Flowers - Design #16693, cut with blue and olive card stock; Shelf - Design #1248, cut with black card stock. The focal image was layered onto blue card stock and then a white card stock base. I added gems onto the flowers - goosebumps from Queen & Co. and crystals from Studio G Gems. All three gems were clear and colored with YG95 Copic marker. Here is what you get in this set:

Spring

We have another new Tuesday Color Challenge starting today over at The Outlawz. Ina picked the photo inspiration this week and it's so cute. She also happened to be the one who chose the image we all used too. It was absolutely perfect for this challenge. Use this image as your inspiration and tell us what inspired you.

Here is the project that I made for the challenge. I am using Karen Middleton's Easter Daffodil for this shadowbox card. Isn't that image adorable?

 

This is a cut file called Butterfly Shadowbox (Design #74676) from Silhouette's online store. The second I saw it, I knew I had to use it with this awesome digital stamp we got from Sweet Pea Stamps. This is a four layer shadowbox that folds flat for mailing. There are six panels that need to be cut. I used Bazzill textured card stock for five of the layers, and designer paper from KI Memories for the background layer. It's hard to see, but it has blue and light purple mixed with white to give it a look of the sky. The butterflies come with this cut file and I used designer paper from DCWV to cut these out. The grass border is another cut file (Design #56521) from Silhouette. The sentiment is part of a cut file called Spring Has Sprung (Design #58461). I brought the chick and daffodil image into my Silhouette software and traced it. Then did a print and cut twice (I noticed that when I used two cut files glued together, it's a lot more durable). I colored the image using Copic markers (chick and daffodil - Y02, Y06, Y08; beak and feet -Y35, Y38; ladybug - R27; stems - G03, G07). All that was left to do was assemble it. There is a video link when you buy the image to see how it is assembled. Unfortunately, it was cut off at the end and instead of redoing the video, she left instructions. I added some different colored crystals onto the butterflies and the top layer to mimic the rainbow from the inspiration photo.

On Your Birthday...

Here we go ... our newest Tuesday Color Challenge at The Outlawz! Ursula chose our inspiration photo and colors this week. And, a wonderful twist ... make it a birthday! There are five colors on the inspiration photo, but you only need to use three! I really hope you will come and play along with us this week.

Here is the card I made for the challenge. I am using Karen Middleton's Biker Boy digi for this card. What an incredibly fun image to color.

 

This card started with the cut file. I used the Balloon Confetti Card (Design #58940) from Silhouette's Online Store. I cut the design using textured card stock from Bazzill. I usually hoard my Bazzill card stock, but thought it would be perfect for this card. To create my background, I took a piece of white card stock and used four colors of Stampin' Up! ink (daffodil delight, riding hood red, marina mist, wild wasabi) and finger daubers to lay ink over the entire page. I glued this page behind the balloons. I brought the biker boy image in my Silhouette software and did a trace on the outside of the image. Because my cut file had all the confetti, I removed the confetti from the image and just used the boy. I did a print and cut twice. I colored one of the images with Copic markers (hat - R21, R24, R27; hair - Y11, Y13, Y15; shirt - YG61, YG63, YG67; jeans - B12, B14, B16; skin - R000, R01; shoes - Y26, Y28; tires - C4, C5; flag - C9 colored in criss-cross pattern; bike - Sakura clear star gelly roll). The second image was glued underneath the colored image to give it a little more thickness and stability. I used foam tape to pop it up on the page. The sentiment is from the On Your Birthday stamp set from Stampin' Up! and layered on riding hood red card stock.

Dancing in the Rain

Hello Everyone! I am so honored to be a Guest Designer this week for Inky Impressions. This is Challenge #200 and the theme for the challenge this week is special lady (mother's day, girlie birthday, etc.).

 

 I am using Umbrella Lili and the Dancing in the Rain sentiment for my card. I printed the focal image on white card stock and colored it using Copic markers (hair- Y15, Y19; umbrella, slicker and wellies - RV25, RV55 {used the tip-to-tip technique to get middle color and blend}; umbrella handle - Y28; skin - R000, R01; lips - R21; jeans, hairband and eyes - B41, B45). After coloring, I added Ranger's Glossy Accents to the umbrella, slicker and wellies to make them shine as if they were rubber. I also used it on the little puddle at the bottom. I used Spellbinder's Labels Ten die to cut the image out. While the die was still attached to the card stock, I used soft sky and bashful blue inks to distress it, leaving a white frame around it. I layered this on a light blue card stock that was also distressed with bashful blue ink. I really liked the way the distressing came out on the colored card stock. This was then layered onto a white card stock base. I pulled the sentiment into my Silhouette software and used a cut file called 5 Clouds (design #11654) to cut a cloud around it. The cloud was distressed with bashful blue ink and then popped up with foam dots. Finally, I added some epoxy raindrops from Creative Imagination to finish off the card. I have had these epoxy stickers for a very long time, so it's awesome to finally use them.

It's Tuesday, that means another challenge at The Outlawz. This week, our Tuesday Color Challenge is a little different. We are using a flag for our colors...and if you haven't already guessed it, yes, it's the Irish flag. It is March afterall, and St. Patrick's Day is next week...so time to whip out those green, orange and white cards! Here is our inspiration photo and colors:

Here is the card I made using Norma J. Burnell's Cat's Cradle image.

 

This card is on a white card base, with a layer of green glitter paper and a layer of orange glitter paper from DCWV's glitter stack. I printed the image on white card stock and colored it using Copic markers. There are seven different greens on this image (dress, hat, wings - G00, G02, G03, G05, G07, G09, G29; cat - YR00, YR12, YR14, YR18; jewels YR18; skin - R0000, R01; lips and eyeshadow - YR12, YR14, YR18). I colored the jewels in the image YR18, but then covered them up with orange crystal gems in two sizes. The image was cut using Spellbinder's Resplendent Rectangles and popped up onto the orange glitter paper with foam dots. Using my Silhouette, I typed Erin Go Bragh with Some Weatz Swashes font and used the clover cut file from Doodle Pantry's Four Leaf Clover .svg set to cut it out. I used pumpkin pie ink and a Sakura gel pen (orange xpgb#705) to distress it. What you also can't see in this photo, is the shimmer all over her using another Sakura gel pen (green xpgb#727). I am including another photo below of a close-up. Last, I added green crystal gems in three of the corners. Here is a close-up view.

Born to Ride

Hello friends...I have another fabulous digital set to show you from Doodle Pantry today! This is one of my favorite masculine sets called Motorcycle Mania!

 

This card was made for my big brother Don! He loves motorcycles and even owns one. He was supposed to take me out riding last time I visited, but we ran out of time. So, I made this card for his birthday to remind him for next time...lol. The pre-colored image and the designer paper are both from the Motorcycle Mania set. The sentiment is actually a cut file from Silhouette's online store (born to ride #18678), but instead of cutting it, I turned it into a digital image and printed it. If you bring a cut file into the software, you can remove the cut lines and turn it into a print instead. I also added a gradient color and printed it, along with the pre-colored image, on white card stock. The center of the frame was used to cut the image to fit inside the frame without hanging over. In addition to the designer paper, I printed the solid color orange from the same set. This was then used to cut the top layer of the tribal flame frame (design #3425). I wanted to make sure the oranges matched perfectly. The back portion of the frame was cut using black card stock. Using foam dots, I raised the frame up on the designer paper. I added 5 metal dots on both sides to finish the card.

Of course, after the card was in the mail, I thought of using the helmet that is part of the set as an embellishment, so that's just a little idea for you if you want. I would have added glossy accents to make the helmet shine too. Here is what you get with the set.

Here is the card I made using Lisa Victoria's Dragon Luck image. Isn't this adorable? I just love that little lady bug landing on his nose.

 

For the background, I used white card stock and five inks from Stampin' Up! (from top - rich razzleberry, orchid opulance, melon mambo, daffodil delight, and green galore). I printed the dragon image onto white card stock and colored him using both Copic and Spectrum Noir markers (dragon - CG3, YG06; eyes - PL3; ladybug - R21, R24, R27; flower - RV23, RV25, YG07). The frame is a cut file from Silhouette of America (Flourish Frame Design #3389). It was cut using purple card stock from Recollections (there is no color listed). The sentiment was typed on my computer using Comic Sans font. I used a label punch from Stampin' Up! and then used daffodil delight ink to distress it.  I added lime green goosebump crystals in the corners to finish it off.
