Treasured Friend

It's time once again for a fabulous new release from Doodle Pantry. I am so excited to once again be able to show you what Laurie has created for us this month. There are only a few items being released today, but there will be another release in the middle of the month, with even more fabulous digital stamp sets for you to play with.

I chose the new set called Old Trunk for my sample card. Look at all these amazing images you get with this set.

And here is the card I made:

I went with a treasured friend theme for this card. I also used the pre-colored version of the trunk image. I normally do my own coloring, but Laurie did such a fantastic job on this trunk, I didn't want to change a thing. The designer paper in the background is also from this set. I absolutely LOVE her digital designer papers. This was layered onto a white card stock base. The frame was cut on my Silhouette Cameo and is from the Silhouette online stored. I cut 4 thin strips of rust paper and weaved it through the slots. I glued this onto white card stock and then onto rust card stock. I deliberately left only the sides of the rust card stock showing. I printed 2 of the trunk images. I left one on white card stock and layered that onto rust card stock and then black card stock to go into the center of the frame. I popped the 2nd trunk image up and draped a short strand of pearls (this was glued down in several places) over the side and added jewels around the bottom and side of the trunk. I also added very small black gems on the top of trunk to mimic the rivets. The sentiment is also from this wonderful set and I cut it with Spellbinder's classic ovals and layered it on rust. I finished is off with clear jewels all around the oval.

A new digital challenge will also begin at noon today and run until April 24th over at the Doodle Pantry blog. The rules are simple...just use a Doodle Pantry image, not just a sentiment, and enter your card using the inlinkz button. There are lots of images on Doodle Pantry's Freebie page. Just for entering the challenge, you will receive the Berry Nice Mice set free. Here is a picture of that set.

Always look on Doodle Pantry's Specials page before checking out. This month, the free with purchase set is Flip Flops. But you need to hurry, it is only free with purchase until April 24th.

And if that's not enough to get your creative juices flowing, there is a 3 day special being offered:

  6. Wow, Susan, this is fabulous! (hmmm, I say that a lot when I come here...so, must be true! LOL) I don't know where to start: overall design lay-out is perfect! I especially love that you wove the rust card through those slots! That trunk is so lovely, and true it's just perfect, but, you added so much more with the bling, and popping it up and all. That's what is so great about your stuff: attention to detail. Oh, and super talent, of course, can't forget that. Funny, I come by expecting to be amazed, and I am NEVER disappointed, you are something else, AND a bag of chips. Oh dear, now I made myself hungry, figures. LOL I think I need that trunk, right? I love that there is an option to have one to color, and one already done. Isn't that really good for whatever mood we are in? Sheesh, it works for me. Doodle Pantry is lucky to have you, "fer sure". TFS!!!

  7. What a gorgeous card! I used to have an old trunk exactly like this one (I think it was pretty like it anyway!). You did a fantastic job showcasing this image...loved the drape of the pearls. Whoo-hoo on your cameo frame too. I have a cameo, not using it very much as yet! What a marvelous idea to thread the paper strips through the cutouts. TFS
