If you would like to receive this adorable New Year's Birdie set for free, just go to Doodle Pantry's blog and follow the instructions for downloading. It is available through January 1. There is also a HUGE sale going on in the store too...40% off all digital products through January 2. Be sure to stop by tomorrow for our release day.

I just can't seem to get enough of these step cards. I had planned on doing a traditional card, but I couldn't fit all my elements on it, so...step card to the rescue.  For this card, I used the newly colored New Year's Birdie set. I love these birdies. The birdie and the designer papers are from this set. I used the colored version of the image, but my printer did a little freak out on me, and the colors didn't all come out right, so I had to use my Copics to fix them. I still tried to make it look the way Laurie colored it, but some of the colors are slight off (branch - E81, E84, E87; bird body - YG11, YG13, YG17; leaves - YG11, YG13; beak and feet - Y35, Y38; hat and flute - V09, V17, V22, B01, B04, B06).  I was glad I didn't have to mess with the bird's cheeks or belly. The shading on that always looks great the way Laurie colors them. I used my Silhouette to cut the birdie out. I used glitter fibers for the horn and the top of his hat. I used a purchased step card cut file from Silhouette, but then had to modify it for what I needed. The Happy New Year sentiment is a cut file from Miss Kate Cuttables. I took the color palette from the birdie. The balloons are 5 layers each with an additional star. I then put a matching colored crystal in the center of the star and then used glossy accents to make it shine. The clock is a cut file from a freebie site. I accented it with crystals at the base of each roman numeral and then a glitter crystal for the center of the hands. The 2014 are metallic stickers from The Paper Studio.

Right Beside You

Hello Everyone,

It's time for Team B's challenge at 613 Avenue Create. This week, our challenge to you is to use black with your favorite color (or Anything Goes if you don't want to do the challenge). Our sponsor this week is Bugaboo Stamps and I am using their stamp Right Beside You silhouette.

I absolutely LOVE black and silver together. It's one of my all-time favorite looks for cards. For this card, it was really simple. I printed the image on white card stock. It has a small black box around it, but for some reason my printer would not print it straight, so I had to cut it away. I then added black card stock behind it to give the border back and mounted it on silver glitter card stock and then a black card stock base. I used a Sakura clear glitter gel pen to add shimmer all over the tree.  I added a silver bird dazzle from Hot Off the Press and then crystal bling in the upper right hand corner.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Overflowing with Loot

December release day for Doodle Pantry. There are so many things going on at Doodle Pantry, especially for the first week. Check out all of the awesome stamp sets released this month, along with more SVG cuts!

I chose to combine two stamp sets this time. The River Raft set is a new release for this month and Pirate Birdie is an older set. As soon as I saw the raft, I wanted to use this birdie. Using my image software, I combined the raft and sail from River Raft and the birdie and chest from Pirate Birdie. I did a horizontal flip on the chest so it was facing the other way. I printed it on white card stock and colored it with Copic markers (bird - B32, B34, B37; beak & foot - YR20, YR23; raft - E42, E84, E87; sail - E40, E42; hat, patch & chest - C2, C5, C9). I used the clear Sakura glitter pen on the corners of the chest and the hook. I printed the digital designer paper that comes with this set and mounted it on navy card stock and then a white card stock base. The image and sentiment were distressed with blue ink and mounted on navy card stock. I added clear square crystals, a red round crystal and 11 medium and small round gold crystals and then a little string of pearls in and on the chest. Here is a picture of the River Raft set:

Holly Jolly Christmas

It's Team B's turn to challenge you at 613 Avenue Create. This week's challenge is Gift Packaging. Our sponsor for this week is Rick St. Dennis.

I chose to do a step card this week. I am using Night Before Christmas Santa. I opened the image with my Silhouette Cameo and did a print and cut. I colored Santa with Copic markers (suit - R35, R37, R39; belt & shoes - C5, C9; face - R01, R02, eyes - B01, holly - G28, fur trim and hair - C0, C2). The step card was cut using a cut file from Silhouette's online store. The designer paper is DCWV. I cut the tree using various colors of green designer paper and glitter paper and then assembled it. The ornaments and star were also cut using glitter paper. I attached the presents and then stamped the sentiment using cherry cobbler ink and a SU stamp and punch set.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
