Pumpkin Carving Ants

Hello Friends! Here is another card using a truly spectacular image from Doodle Pantry called Pumpkin Carving Ants! Isn't it adorable? I love making Halloween cards, and I decided to "scare" this one up just a tiny bit, because the pumpkin and ants are too adorable for words. Just look at everything you get with this set:

To create this card, I pulled the PRECOLORED image into my Silhouette Designer software and traced the image to create a cut outline. I then used the print and cut feature. Because it was impossible to get all the items on the ground around the pumpkin, I left those out out. I then printed the sentiment on white card stock and used a punch by Stampin' Up! to punch the shape. I distressed the sentiment with Pumpkin Pie ink, also by Stampin' Up! and black ink around the edges to give it a little frame. To get the moon, I punched a 1" circle and used it as a mask and inked the moon with Barely Banana ink. I then took the cut circle and using removable tape, placed it over the moon and distressed the entire layer with Going Gray ink. The fence, tree and witch are all cut files from Silhouette's online store. I cut the fence with gray card stock and distressed it with black ink. I cut the tree with brown card stock and also distressed it with black ink and the witch was cut with black card stock. The bat is a small punch I have in my stash. The white card stock was attached to a black card stock base and all items were adhered to the card. This is a dimensional card, although the picture doesn't really show you that.

Born to Stand Out

This card was created using the brand new set from Doodle Pantry called Pumpkin. This is actually your last day to get this set FREE/WITH PURCHASE. This is a phenomenal set and you get tons of pumpkins in this set, including beautiful white pumpkins.

To make this card I used one style of one of the orange pumpkins (PRE-COLORED) and duplicated it 3 times. The two on the left where flipped horizontally using my image software. A white pumpkin (PRE-COLORED) was added in the middle and made to appear in front of the others. The image was then brought into the Silhouette Designer software program and I traced it to get an outline cut.  I then did a print and cut. The cornstalk is a cut-file from Silhouette's online store. I cut it in white and then used various Stampin' Up! inks and finger sponges to color it (Garden Green, Wild Wasabi, Soft Suede, Baked Brown Sugar and Daffodil Delight). The gorgeous designer paper is also from the Pumpkin set. I typed the sentiment in Microsoft Word using the Chiller font and printed it on white card stock. It was then punched out using the Decorative Label punch from Stampin' Up! and distressed around the edges using Basic Black and Soft Suede inks. The card was assembled with a brown card stock base  and adding the designer paper on top of that. I cut a 5" square piece of white card stock and distressed it with Baked Brown Sugar and Soft Suede inks. The colored cornstalk was glued down onto the white card stock, leaving just two of the husks unglued. The sentiment was glued between the husks and then the final husks were glued down. The row of pumpkins was added last and they were added using pop dots to raise the image off the page.

Remember that in addition to being the last day to get the Pumpkin set free w/purchase, it is also the LAST DAY to enter the Doodle Pantry Blog Challenge #38 for a chance to win a Doodle Pantry gift certificate and receive the Jingle Ants set free.

Stay tuned to the Doodle Pantry Blog because there are some great changes coming October 1.

North Pole Sign

Come on over to 613 Avenue Create for the new challenge from Team B. This week, we have the Make Your Own Color Challenge or the always Anything Goes. This week we are sponsored by Sassy Studio Designs and Rick St. Dennis. I am using an image by Rick St. Dennie called North Pole Sign and decided to do the color challenge. I chose White from column A, Red from column B and Green from column C.

I printed the image on white heavyweight card stock and colored it using Copic markers (bear - E33, E35, E37; bow - G07, G09; pole and sign trim - R17, R29, C0; stars - Y04, Y08; inside sign - E33, E35, E29; pole hardware - N3, N6, N8) and colored the snow with Stickles Star Dust glitter glue. I mounted the image on black card stock and then garden green card stock from Stampin' Up! I added the 3 silver snowflakes last.

Hump Day!

This is a card using another awesome Doodle Pantry image and sentiment from the set called Camel Fun. Isn't this camel adorable? There are lots of digital papers and sentiments with this set. Here is a picture of what you get:

All of the paper used on this card is from Stampin' Up! (whisper white, always artichoke, crumb cake). Using my image software, I flipped the camel horizontally so he was facing the other direction. I then printed the camel on white card stock and colored him using Copic markers (E51, E53, E55, E57). I then distressed the card stock using always artichoke ink and a finger sponge. The frame is a cut file from the Silhouette online store. This particular cut file came as a card with other objects. Because I wanted the camel to appear behind foliage, I cut away the other objects and flipped the cut file vertically using the designer silhouette software. I raised the frame using pop dots and adhered it to the white card stock. I brought the sentiment into the designer software and used the print and cut feature. This was also distressed with always artichoke ink. The frame for the sentiment is also a cut file from the online store. I adhered the sentiment to the frame and raised it using pop dots onto the white card stock. Everything was then mounted onto the crumb cake card base.

Wishing You The Beary Best

I have some really great news. I have joined the Design Team at 613 Avenue Create. This is my first week and I'm really excited to be working with such wonderful, creative ladies. I will be on Team B. This week's challenge is Grandparent's Day or make something for a grandchild/child. Our sponsors this week are The Paper Shelter and Shelly's Images.

I chose to make a card for a child and I'm using the PRE-COLORED image called "The Most Adorable Panda" from The Paper Shelter. This card was so much fun to make. I started out by cutting 4 copies of this bamboo border on my Sihouette Cameo and making a frame from it. This was a little time consuming because each one of the "ties" was separate and I had to glue them all onto the frame. I distressed the frame to give it more depth. I then cut the bamboo stalks and leaves on my Silhouette Cameo. This was also very time consuming because each and every piece was separate and they had to be put together like a puzzle and glued in place. I then printed the panda image and hand-cut it. I then stamped the sentiment from Stampin' Up! and distressed it using creamy caramel ink and mounted it on old olive card stock. The frame, panda and sentiment are all popped up using pop dots.

I really hope you will join us at  613 Avenue Create's blog and enter your projects into the challenges there!

Franken-Birdie

Yay, the new release from Doodle Pantry is here! There are some amazing sets this month, so I hope you get a change to get to the store and see what Laurie created. You will NOT be disappointed.

I used the new Franken-Birdie set for my card. Is that not the cutest bird/monster ever? I love Laurie's birds, and this one was no exception. The franken-birdie image, the designer paper and the sentiment all came from this new set. I started with a black card stock base and cut the spider web using my Silhouette Cameo, and I placed a piece of lime green card stock behind it. On the left side, I used the new designer paper from the Franken-Birdie digital stamp set. I printed the image (horizontally reversed) on white card stock and colored him using Copic markers (body - G14, YG23, YG25; beak and feet - YR14, YR16; hair - N3, N6, N8; jacket - V17, V22, V25; bolts - silver slicci pen; web - Sakura clear glitter pen). I distressed the edges and mounted the image on black and then orange card stock. Printed the sentiment and used a Stampin' Up punch and then distressed it in orange. The spider is part of the cut file and I added crystals for it's eyes. Here is a copy of all the images you get in the Franken-Birdie set.
